However, thanks to VentureBeat, we can get an idea of its design before then. As you can see above, the simply named ‘Surface Pro’ will look a lot like its predecessor. The device will pair with a number of multicolored accessories, including a type cover, Surface Pen, and Surface Mouse. This seems to align with the recent Surface Laptop announcement, with colors of black, blue, silver, and red.

Surface Pro Specification Rumors

Other than that, it’s all pretty standard. The focus here will be on specs, not improving the already great design. Unfortunately, those aren’t available quite yet, the publication promising more on Monday. However, there are a few things we can guess from industry chatter. According to Paul Thurrott, the next device will not ditch the Surface Power Connector, nor will it support USB-C. That’s a major disappointment for some, though others will be happy with compatibility for their current accessories. The renders seem to confirm this, with a pretty standard I/O line up visible. The release does have some merit, though, with an apparent upgrade to Intel’s Kaby Lake processors. All of this makes it clear why Microsoft hasn’t tacked a ‘5’ on the end of that product name. It’s very much a Surface Pro 4.5 than a fully fledged release. Unfortunately, there’s further bad news. VentureBeat’s source says there won’t be a Surface Book launching alongside the Pro like last cycle. The Surface Laptop seems to be enough for innovation for now.
